Collaborative Innovation Casebook

From The Greater IBM Social Network Wiki

The Collaborative Innovation Casebook, launching here, is an effort to use a collaborative tool -- this wiki -- to collect and organize examples, case studies and best practices of collaborative innovation based on the collective wisdom of past, current and future IBMers, their partners, and the business community at large. The casebook will serve as an information source for business strategists, consultants, students and others. For example IBM's business research arm, Institute for Business Value, will be using information collected here in future white papers. Other organizations will be able to do the same.

Why participate? This wiki is one way to advance awareness of your organization's capabilities in collaborative innovation.

Current business research shows that development of new business models for supporting innovation depends on collaboration. Organizations may prefer to keep their successes out of public view where competitors may benefit from it. Yet many find that by letting others know just how they have succeeded in collaborative innovation they build a pipeline of partnership opportunities for the future. They may also find that innovation for their industry brings growth to all industry players. And, for organizations in the business of societal innovation, the open approach is embedded in their mission.

If you are in a position to share knowledge and insights from a specific business experience, the wiki is an opportunity for business and professional networking. At the same time it can provide recognition of expertise in an emerging area of business and provide you with hands-on experience with a useful collaborative tool.
