Have YOU ever contributed to a wiki before? If not, no worries. Try editing this page -- you will see how easy it can be. I am adding to the wiki.

You will see basic tools like you have used in word processing software B for bold and I for italic.

[edit] What is the point in producing Wiki's?

The internet seems awash with the assumption that since anyone can be an author and publisher then everyone should be. Why? What on earth makes people think that the majority have anything useful or interesting to say? Whilst this seems to be equality gone berserk it is fortunate that the universe and the internet turn out to be self managing. Obscure pointless stuff goes unnoticed and eventually slips into the bit-bucket in the sky. Fortunately all that has been consumed are a few trillion electrons whilst the stuff was created......

.... but that leads to an interesting thought for the "green freaks" - how much energy is being consumed spinning all those discs containing this verbal detritus? Could we contribute to saving the planet by just ditching all that pointless "data" (if it is worth calling it that) generated by millions of bloggers and wikiists?

Perhaps this is the area in which the greening of IT can contribute the most? Just a thought!
